The Jacques Vieville Tarot
The Tarot of Jacques Vieville is a unique and intriguing deck. It was created in the same time and place as the Jean Noblet Tarot, (Paris, around 1650); but is clearly from a different tradition. As far as I know, there is no other deck like it, yet it has similarities to a wide range of tarot “families”.
When trying to determine the intention of artists , I find the Jacques Vieville often provides the key to unlocking the tarot’s secrets when comparing iconography between several historic decks.

How do I find a value for a deck of these cards?
Hi Julie,
I’m not sure anymore. A couple of years ago it could easily be found for $35. Now it seems to be going for up to twice that (or who knows… maybe even more).
To get a better idea, you might want to post a new thread on Aeclectic to ask what the going rate is these days.

good luck.
